Antique Towle Silversmiths Silver Plated Dish Tray Proudest Name in Silverplate
This is an antique Towle Silversmiths silver plated dish or tray made by T Towle “The proudest name in silverplate”. This was in a box of antiques that my husband bought at an estate sale and when I looked up the name and what it said online was that they were made from 1690 until 1857 and then the name changed to Towle & Jones. I do not see the 92.5 so it would be the silver plated copper according to Google. This one has quite a few scratches but should still be valuable, being as old as it would be. It is a little over 7” wide and over 1 1/2” high. It weighs 8.2 ounces. The bottom has Towle engraved in the bottom center and then the sticker says T Towle the proudest name in silverplate. Might polish up nicely as I didn’t try. Feel free to bundle and save on Mercaris discounted bundled shipping costs.
